Current Abilities I currently know the basic information and skills of technology that would be implemented in a classroom. I have not had very much practice with the equipment outside of a computer and a Smartboard. I am, although, technologically savvy and pick up on new information quickly. I understand how important technology is in classrooms in this modern day in age and am prepared to learn about the newest innovations so that I can utilize them in my own classroom.
Need Not only is it important for me to be independently fluent in technology but also in a way that I am able to demonstrate and teach these current forms of technology to my students. These students probably know so much about technology from using the internet at home and cell phones and I think that as teachers it is important to teach them how to use these technological outlets for educational purposes.
Goal My personal goal is to be a technological pioneer within my school and classroom and always be on the edge of new technologies. I want to present information to my students and their parents in new, creative, and innovative ways using technology.
Short Term Plan I plan to obtain as much knowledge as possible during this class so that I am be better prepared and informed about educational technology. From what I have learned in this class I can continue to learn about Wikispaces, social media sites, and curriculum enhancing technologies.
Long Term Plan Going off of what I learn in this class I can then take all the information one step further by implementing it in to my school work and time spent in classrooms during observations and student teaching. Hopefully during those times I will not be restricted to book work and worksheets because I will have the knowledge and desire to use technology to teach students in a way that is more enjoyable for them.

Reflection One of my main goals for this course was learning more about resources for teachers in particular. This included Wikispaces and I can say confidently that I am much better prepared and excited to use this application within my own classroom. I also feel like I extended my knowledge of social media sites and now better ways in which to implement them. I have always been a big fan of twitter and blogging but I now know that those aren't always the best way to communicate with a classroom because it is not as interactive as a Wikispace can be.
I do not think that I would change my long term goals at all because I still want to focus on using as much technology as possible in my classroom. I have also learned that I want to have a wide variety of technology and I feel like I have broadened my view of those resources. Other than the smartboard, which I am sure I will use daily, but also computers, computer games, document camera, iMovie, and podcasts.
In an interview for my first teaching job I will be proud to say that I am well experienced in many different types of technology and that is something that could be used to help in my hiring. I know that the schools that I have worked in are wanting their teachers to use as much as possible and I think that because I do know technology well that would be attractive to future employers. When I am a teacher I want to show my students that I am not going to be boring and make them memorize facts from a book but rather have them interacting with me through many different forms of technology.
